HH(Hypnic headache) is usually affecting the elderly population.
In this study, they reported three children between 7 and 11 years old with HH features.
Despite these cases do not always fit with criteria for HH,
in the cases the exclusively sleep-related dull headache
attacks, bilateral severe pain and absence of autonomic
symptoms were strongly suggestive of HH diagnosis.
HH:
Occurring exclusively during sleep
Side - either lateralized or bilateralCharacteristics - dull, no autonomic symptoms
- no more than nausea, photophobia, or phonophobia are present.
Duration - short-lasting, persistence of pain >15 minutes after waking
